A nurse fell to her death from a medical helicopter Monday as she tried to rescue an injured woman in a park near Austin.

Kristin McLain, 46, a member of the STAR Flight aerial medical emergency team, fell above the Barton Creek Greenbelt during a search-and-rescue mission, according to the Austin-American Statesman. The emergency team was lifting the injured woman from the Greenbelt to their helicopter when McLain fell.

The woman who STAR Flight was rescuing had injuries that were not life-threatening. The incident will be investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
